Cindy Carcamo


Cindy is an award-winning staff writer at The Orange County Register, where she covers immigration and other transnational issues. Some of her most recent pieces include a project about deported U.S. veterans and a three-part series about people affected by a shift in immigration patterns between Mexico and the United States. She also contributes to Slake LA magazine, where she wrote about the first 48 hours of a deportee’s life after returning to Guatamala. Carcamo also reported as a correspondent in Argentina and Mexico as an Inter-American Press Association scholar.
